BULBWALEH local string band is a group of young boys from Central Pentecost. “BULBWALEH” in Central Pentecost language simply means “Unity”. The group was formed in 2017. Later in 2020 they release their first ever  album. The purpose was to raise some money after the  tropical cyclone Harold had hit so hard. They wished to start a project helping them collect a new source of revenue.

Pentecost island is well know for its Kava production. Unfortunately after Harold tropical cyclone part of the production of Kava and other crops was destroyed.  Natural disaster are unpredictable, and they wish to seek for other income. Music is part of every day’s life. The Islands artists are very numerous and creative. Music brings joy and helps resilience.  As musicians they need to purchase good quality instruments and materiel : guitars, percussions, sound systems, etc.

This young boys had made history to be the first ever Vanuatu local music group to sing in Chinese song , they introduce Chinese song in Vanuatu music industry.

Why Chinese ?

Richard, the singer is also an accomplished student in Chinese Language at the Beijing Normal University. He wanted to have this song travel around the world and touch the heart of his Chinese friends.
